Wellness
Freediving, Yoga and Wellness on Nusa Lembongan
Nusa Lembongan pairs its reef diving with two certified freediving schools, five yoga studios covering everything from vinyasa to hot yoga, and ocean-view sauna and cold-plunge decks at two beach clubs, so a full day of breath-hold training, a yoga class and a hot-cold recovery session all fit within a short scooter ride of each other.
Most of Lembongan's wellness options sit within or just outside Jungutbatu, the island's main village, close enough to combine with a morning on the water or a scooter loop around the island.
Freediving Courses
Two certified freediving schools operate on Nusa Lembongan itself, both teaching from beginner breath-hold basics up through instructor-track levels. One Breath Lembongan, based at Jungutbatu Beach, is an SSI-affiliated center running a one-day SSI Introduction to Freediving course and progressing through SSI Level 1 to Level 3 for divers building depth and breath-hold technique (Source: Monkey Activities and Isla Indah Retreat, both listing One Breath Lembongan as their SSI freediving partner, 2026 access). Note that a separate, unrelated business also called "One Breath Freediving" and AIDA-certified operates out of Dahab, Egypt; it has no connection to the Lembongan school of the same name, so double-check the location before booking through a search result.
Fluid Focus Freedive Lembongan, trading under the older domain name Blue Corner Freedive, describes itself as Nusa Lembongan's first PADI and Molchanovs freediver center, running an entry-level PADI Freediver course over two and a half days for around IDR 5,900,000, with ocean training to a maximum depth of 20 metres (Source: Fluid Focus Freedive official site, accessed September 2026). "Blue Corner Freedive" as a brand name is unrelated to Blue Corner, the advanced dive site off Lembongan's north-west coast covered on the snorkeling and diving page; the two share a name by coincidence, not location or ownership.
Sauna and Cold Plunge
Two beach clubs on the island run a sauna alongside a cold plunge or ice bath, giving visitors a hot-cold recovery option without a trip to a spa resort on the Bali mainland. At Lago, above the boardwalk near Coconut Beach and the Playgrounds surf break, the Sundeck combines a sauna and a cold plunge with views across the water toward Mount Agung (Source: Lago Bali official site, 2026). This is a separate facility from the Pontoon, Lago's solar-powered floating bar moored around 80 metres offshore on a single mooring above the reef; the Pontoon serves food and drinks from floating sun loungers and does not include a sauna, a distinction worth knowing since the two are sometimes conflated.
In Jungutbatu, Three Monkeys Beach Club runs a sauna and ice bath next to its open-air gym and beachfront restaurant, also with ocean views (Source: 3 Monkeys Lembongan official site; The Lembongan Traveller, 2026). Both venues sell day passes to walk-ins, though current prices vary by source and season, so confirm the rate directly with the venue rather than relying on a fixed figure here. As with any hot-cold contrast therapy, people with heart conditions, high blood pressure or who are pregnant are generally advised to check with a doctor first; this is general guidance, not medical advice specific to either venue.
Yoga Studios
Five yoga studios operate on Nusa Lembongan, enough range to move through several styles over a longer stay. Yoga Bliss Lembongan, behind Green Garden Restaurant in Jungutbatu, runs daily drop-in classes at 8am and 5pm across vinyasa flow, yin yoga and some ashtanga (Source: Yoga Bliss Lembongan official site, 2026). Island Yoga Nusa Lembongan, in a laneway off the main road in Jungutbatu, teaches vinyasa, yin and hatha alongside sound healing and gong meditation. Shizaru, on Jl. Jungutbatu, is the island's dedicated hot yoga studio, running a Bikram-style beginner series, 26-and-2 hot yoga and Inferno Hot Pilates in a heated room.
The Yoga Garden Lembongan, run by Akira Yoga near Dream Beach behind Cookies Coffee Shop & Warung, offers daily classes including Rise & Flow, Power Yoga, Stretch & Strength and Yin Yoga with Sound Healing, plus retreats and Yoga Alliance teacher training (Source: Akira Yoga / The Yoga Garden Lembongan official site, 2026). Indah Oasis Yoga, based at Isla Indah Retreat, teaches hatha, vinyasa and yin yoga together with Qi Gong, meditation, Yoga Nidra and pranayama. Drop-in visitors are generally welcome at all five studios.
Is There a Floating Sauna on Nusa Lembongan?
No floating sauna is confirmed on the island. Lago's floating structure, the Pontoon, is a solar-powered ocean bar with sun loungers and a jump tower, not a sauna. Lago's actual sauna and cold plunge sit on its land-based Sundeck, overlooking the water rather than floating on it, so visitors picturing a sauna out on the reef should expect a boardwalk deck instead.
Can Beginners Take a Freediving Course on Nusa Lembongan?
Yes. One Breath Lembongan runs a one-day SSI Introduction to Freediving course with no prior experience required, and Fluid Focus Freedive Lembongan offers an entry-level PADI Freediver course over two and a half days. Both start with pool or shallow-water breath-hold basics before moving to open water, and neither requires a scuba certification first.
Do You Need to Book Ahead for the Sauna and Cold Plunge?
Both Lago's Sundeck and Three Monkeys Beach Club sell day passes to walk-ins from their beach cafes, so advance booking is not required. Passes and pricing change and are worth confirming with the venue on the day, particularly during busier periods when deck space is limited.
